How to get Credit Scanner
Currently, Credit Scanner is included for new ExpressVPN users in the U.S. who choose the one- or two-year plan.
- Go to the Order page and choose an ExpressVPN plan. Credit Scanner is included in the two-year and one-year plans. The two-year plan additionally includes a more detailed monthly credit report.
- Press the button on the plan to proceed.
- Complete your order by entering your email address and payment details.
ExpressVPN users in the U.S. who signed up before Nov. 21, 2024, do not yet have access to Credit Scanner, but we will be rolling it out to them soon.
How to set up and use Credit Scanner
You may set up Credit Scanner in the ExpressVPN mobile apps for iOS or Android or on your ExpressVPN Account page.
- If you are using the mobile app, tap the Upgrades tab on the bottom of the app screen. If you are using the ExpressVPN website, go to your Account page, where you’ll be prompted to log into your account, if you aren’t already signed in.
- Select Credit Scanner.
- If you are prompted to verify your account via your email, select Send Email and check for an email message from ExpressVPN. Enter the six-digit verification code into the app. Select Next.
- Enter your personal information. If you have previously set up an Identity Defender service, you won’t have to re-enter the same information, but you’ll need to input your Social Security number and phone number in order for us to provide your credit details. Select Continue.
- The credit reporting agencies will attempt to verify your identity via phone or email. Enter the verification code. If neither of these methods succeed in verifying your identity, you’ll be prompted to answer a question about your credit history. Select Continue.
- You’ll be taken to a dashboard with your credit score and other features.
Use Credit Alerts
On the Credit Scanner dashboard, select Credit Alerts to view events that could impact your credit. Selecting the plus sign on each item provides more information on each event and why it might affect your score.
Use Credit Protection
Credit Protection provides helpful information on how to contact the three credit bureaus to request a freeze on your credit. Freezing your credit will prevent creditors from approving any new credit account in your name, whether it is fraudulent or legitimate.
Use Credit Score Details
Credit Score Details explores the factors that impact your credit score and whether they are affecting you positively or negatively. Each negative item also recommends actions.
Use Credit Report
Only users on the ExpressVPN two-year plan receive more comprehensive credit reports. These monthly reports list information like current and past addresses, balances, payments, and accounts in your name.
How to cancel Credit Scanner
To cancel your Credit Scanner subscription, stop automatic renewal for the add-on by contacting ExpressVPN’s Support team.
